Liege Trilogiport

The port site covered by this call for projects has a particular configuration and specific location characteristics. It is enclosed between the waterway (the Albert Canal), which can be used directly for inland waterway activities, and railway infrastructure.

Characteristics of the immediately available port site

The proposed port site has the following characteristics:

  • a total surface area of approximately 32,146 m², of which 27,788 m² is usable;
  • an additional area of 4,358 m², located between the railway tracks, made available free of charge provided that it is maintained by the concession holder;
  • a straight quay with a usable length of 210 metres;
  • a draught of 3.40 metres;
  • immediate availability.

Access – Operational constraints of the site

The port site covered by this call for projects has a particular configuration and specific location characteristics. It is enclosed between the waterway (the Albert Canal), which can be used directly for inland waterway activities, and railway infrastructure.

This location provides direct access to the inland waterway network, which is the preferred mode of access to the site.

Although rail access is available, it is not considered a priority because of the constraints resulting from the configuration of the site. Its use nevertheless remains possible, provided that it is compatible with the technical characteristics of the site.

There is currently no road access to the site. Road access must be constructed by the operator, taking into account the technical specificities of the site.

Bulk-handling activities may be considered, provided that they exclusively involve packaged bulk goods such as big bags, sacks or any other suitable form of packaging.

In accordance with the Liège Trilogiport urban planning charter, this requirement is intended to prevent any risk of volatile materials, dust or particles being dispersed into the port environment and to preserve the quality of the facilities and surrounding environment.

Applicants must demonstrate that their project is compatible with these access constraints and that it implements the measures required to ensure operations that comply with the environmental requirements and operating conditions of the site.

Concession conditions

The main applicable fees are as follows:

  • occupancy fee: €0.6073 excluding VAT/year/m²;
  • a fee based on the tonnage handled, in accordance with the port fee schedule in force at the time of collection;
  • application of the specific indexation coefficient of the Autonomous Port of Liège (x1.9665 in 2026) and VAT at 21%.

Targeted value-added activities

The Autonomous Port of Liège wishes to welcome companies whose activities will contribute to the economic development of the region and strengthen the multimodal purpose of the Liège Trilogiport platform.

Projects must meet the following criteria in particular:

  • develop an activity linked to inland waterways and/or rail, excluding container handling using these two modes of transport;
  • be compatible with the proximity of logistics companies already established on the site;
  • generate added value for the goods transported.

The planned number of jobs and the amount of investment made on the site will also be taken into consideration.

Submission of applications

Interested companies are invited to submit their project and demonstrate the relevance of their proposed location in relation to the development objectives of the Autonomous Port of Liège.

Applications must be submitted no later than 31 October 2026.
