ROYAL ASTRID TENNIS CLUB « LA DETENTE » DE WANDRE Set up in 1949 on the Port Authority site, the RATCD Wandre has created a top-notch set of facilities and sports club that primarily owes its reputation to its friendly family atmosphere. Heavy human and financial investments were used to build a cafeteria and modern, functional changing rooms that comply with the latest accessibility standards for disabled people. Supervised by qualified instructors, the dynamic school for young people there seeks to initiate local youngsters into the world of sports and encourage them to become involved. The club has six gravel fields and organises two official tournaments every year under the aegis of the AFT (Francophone Tennis Association). The July tournament attracts the best players from Liège Province and neighbouring provinces to the club. The more relaxed August tournament succeeds every year in building upon its reputation for uninhibited friendliness and good humour.
