MGM - Magasins Généraux Manutention

MGM    Created in 1989, the MGM (Magasins Généraux Manutention) company is located in the Hermalle-sous-Huy Industrial estate, at the centre of the Liége steel area. The motorway, rail infrastructure and port site on the Meuse (draught 2.80 m/2,300 to) is used to provide an effective and prime service to customers keen to outsource their logistical problems.  The MGM infrastructure is designed to receive, store and reship steel products, generally in spools and sheets. The installations may also handle other products, placed in big-bags and/or on palettes. The activities are covered by and accredited according to ISO 9001 standards.  The site comprises :     Administrative offices (meeting room available to customers) *  Halls of roughly 12,000 m² that are covered, heated and subject to moisture content testing. With a storage capacity able to accommodate up to 60,000 tonnes of steel spools or other products.  *  Hall earmarked for racks for storing palettes up to1,500 kgs.  *  Outside storage area (roughly 10,000 m²) for weather-resistant products.  *  6 roller bridges with capacities of 20 to 40 tonnes.  *  Connection to the rail system able to accommodate 24-carriage trains.(~1,500 tonnes).
